So, what is happening at Cookhouse Creations today?
Well, we are being creative in our kitchen, coming up with a myriad of different recipe ideas so none of us will grow tired of the same ole same ole or wear ourselves out preparing a meal for ourselves or our families. Here at the Cookhouse we take our leisure time seriously so since we have to eat everyday, why not make food preparations fun and deeply satisfying?
Growing up in the south, we were exposed to many wonderful meals prepared by people we loved. I am sure you have memories of some of your own favorites cooked with expertise and loving care. I remember my aunt’s fried chicken and her dumplings chased with turnip greens and corn bread and just because she loved us, she would add her special chocolate pie with that incredible meringue on top. Or, at Granny’s you could almost always find some chess pie or biscuits and molasses dished up with some sweet tea. Yeah, those kind of memories. We all have them and here at Cookhouse Creations some of our recipes are handed down through multiple generations. And sometimes, every now and then, we modify the ingredients and the techniques to add our own special little touch.
We have learned so much about good nutrition and here at the Cookhouse we want you to be able to prepare healthy meals in ways that will benefit yourself and your loved ones. On occasion though it’s okay to cook just the way your ancestors did and just make a few minor modifications and, voila, it’s much healthier and just as tasty. So, let’s begin the journey of cooking up fine tasting meals, many from our past, and such a wide variety that you will never grow bored. The worst thing that may happen is that you mess up a little and then the next time you will know exactly what you did wrong.
